A private saltwater pool, steps from the dining room.

It's yours alone: an oval saltwater pool, 3 to 6 ft deep, with shallow steps at one end. It's not heated, and there's no hot tub.

Carved wood stairs, patterned tile, wrought-iron balconies and French doors on two sides. Vista Villa is a Spanish-style home on a quiet Sherman Oaks hillside, set up for groups who want privacy, space and a real LA stay rather than a hotel.

Past guests have come for family visits, multi-generation weeks and long LA vacations. The pool and terraces carry the days; the long table and two living rooms carry the evenings.

How many guests can stay?

Up to 10 guests in total, including children, under the City of Los Angeles permit. The home is most comfortable for 8: there are 5 beds for 8 people, and guests 9 and 10 sleep on the downstairs sofas. Visitors must be approved in advance.

Is the pool heated?

No. It's a private saltwater pool, 3 to 6 ft deep, and it isn't heated; there's no hot tub. It's comfortable on warm days and cool in the winter months. No diving, and an adult must supervise children at all times.

Can we host a party or event?

No. The City of Los Angeles prohibits unpermitted parties at short-term rentals, and the home allows no parties or events of any kind. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM, and no more than 8 guests may be outdoors after 8 PM.

What fees and taxes will I pay?

The booking widget shows the full price for your dates, including the nightly rate, any fees and City of Los Angeles transient occupancy tax, before you pay. Prices change with the calendar, so the widget is the only place prices appear on this site.

Can we walk to restaurants?

Yes. Ventura Boulevard is about a 7-minute walk down neighborhood stairways, with restaurants, coffee and grocery stores. The walk back is uphill, and the street has no sidewalk.

How far is Universal Studios Hollywood?

About 10 minutes by car, 15 to 18 in typical traffic. Burbank Airport is about 15 minutes away.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome with advance notice. The pet fee is $30 per pet, per night, shown at checkout. Pets stay on the first floor and off furniture and beds.
